General Teacher Opportunities
The leadership team of the KNOVA Learning Reynolds Public School, an innovative new public charter school that opened its doors in fall 2010, is now accepting applications for the position of Teacher.
The School will specialize in preparing students from underserved communities for competitive colleges and advanced careers by accelerating their academic learning and holistic development. We currently are serving grades k-8.
The School’s mission is to develop virtuous scholars, citizens and leaders by providing a rigorous liberal arts education. We will open an exemplary, results-driven, and scalable K-8 public school where every student is academically proficient, ready to thrive in high school and college, and demonstrates leadership, character and imagination. Students will master a broad foundation of knowledge and skills while developing leadership, analytical, creative and other high-level cognitive capacities.
In our school, every Teacher partners closely with their co-teacher to team-teach so that students can benefit from personalized instruction throughout an extended learning day and 200 day extended school year. Through this unique approach, Teachers are able to deliver instruction to students individually, in small groups, and through collaborative, large-group lessons. As mentors and coaches, Teachers are expected to model effective instructional practice and exercise positive behavior management techniques. Those Teachers who prove effective in driving student learning, delivering the KNOVA academic model, and working as a team leader will be provided with promotional opportunities.
We are seeking Teachers with the proven classroom experience, distinguished expertise, and collaborative approach to serve on the founding team that will start and manage our first school. Teachers that we hire will be part of a talented team that develops and implements a breakthrough academic model based on our research-validated educational design.
